Graham Chillingworth
Chillingworth’s practice uses a succession of ephemeral public site orientated events that engage an audience of invited and random passers-by. Chillingworth’s events have strong historical context which can be understood via information boards located around the event area, alongside conversations held (should anyone approach during the event), as well as the materials and methods used within the duration of the event. The performance that takes place within the event often relates to a nomadic pseudo-reconstruction of buildings, settlements or historical events. These events are then captured in aesthetically pleasing photographs that capture the ephemeral passage of time. “Sarah Cunningham, Farnham Observer 2005”
